Codigo 1530 Sip Tequila Anejo Single Barrel

Codigo 1530 Sip Tequila Anejo Single Barrel

A rare collaboration between Codigo 1530 and Sip Tequila, this exclusive single barrel anejo is a collector's dream: a limited 2021 release bearing the Sip Tequila logo etched in gold, born from one of the most thoughtful barrel programs in Jalisco.

Crafted at Varo Destileria under NOM 1616 in Amatitan, Jalisco, this anejo rests for 16 months in brand new French Oak Napa Valley Cabernet wine barrels before a 2-month finish in Spanish Sherry casks, totaling 18 months of maturation. The uncharred French Oak preserves the agave's natural character while the wine barrel imparts structure and fruit, and the sherry finish layers in a final wave of richness that sets this release apart from any standard anejo tequila.

  • Nose: Warm dried fruits, ripe plum, and a whisper of honey lifted by hints of Cabernet-kissed oak and toasted vanilla
  • Palate: Smooth and richly textured with dark fruit, caramel, sherry-driven sweetness, and a subtle undercurrent of baked agave
  • Finish: Long and lingering with plum preserves, honeyed oak, and a gentle warmth that speaks to the dual-barrel journey

This anejo tequila shines best enjoyed neat or on a single large ice cube, though its depth of dried fruit and honey makes it a compelling choice in an elevated Old Fashioned or a Oaxacan-inspired spirit-forward cocktail.

Best served neat or over a single rock to let the layered barrel work fully express itself. A Sip Tequila exclusive single barrel anejo from Amatitan, Jalisco, sourced from Varo Destileria.
