La Luna Chino Silvestre Mezcal
Born from the wild hillsides of Etucuaro, Michoacan, La Luna Chino Silvestre is a mezcal of rare character, crafted entirely from foraged Agave Cupreata and guided by the hands of Master Distiller Patricio Arreaga Pena. This is a spirit that carries the living landscape of Michoacan in every sip.
The agave is slow-roasted for a full 120 hours, then rested for a week before natural fermentation begins alongside the bagazo. Distillation takes place in traditional copper and pine stills, and the entire process reflects a commitment to artisanal mezcal-making that is being passed forward through a dedicated apprenticeship program at La Luna.
- Nose: Passion fruit, lemon, pine, and pineapple open bright and inviting, with a wild, herbaceous depth underneath.
- Palate: Rich and layered with tobacco, pine resin, mint, anise, and a gentle thread of smoke that winds through each sip.
- Finish: Very fresh with lasting herbal notes that linger long after the glass is set down.
La Luna Chino Silvestre shines in a Mezcal Negroni, where its smoke and herbal complexity play beautifully against vermouth and bitter orange. It is equally at home in a simple Mezcal Paloma, letting the fruit-forward nose speak clearly alongside grapefruit.
Best enjoyed neat or with a single large ice cube to let the aromas open gradually. Produced from 100% wild Agave Cupreata, sourced and distilled in Etucuaro, Michoacan.
