ArteNom Seleccion de 1146 Anejo Tequila

ArteNom Seleccion de 1146 Anejo Tequila

A rare expression of patience and craft, the ArteNom Seleccion de 1146 Anejo is a testament to what happens when exceptional agave meets nearly three years of thoughtful barrel aging. Master Distiller Enrique Fonseca has created something that earns every second of that wait.

Produced at the storied Tequilegna distillery (NOM 1146) in the town of Tequila, Jalisco, this anejo begins with highland agaves grown near Atotonilco el Alto, fermented in stainless steel using Mendoza wine yeast strains. What sets it apart is a two-stage aging journey: a minimum of 14 months in used Cabernet Franc wine barrels sourced from the Loire Valley of France, followed by at least 14 more months in toasted American white oak previously used for Canadian whiskey or Tennessee rye. The result is a complex, additive-free tequila verified by Tequila Matchmaker, with total aging approaching three years.

  • Nose: Inviting aromas of baking spices, warm vanilla, and butterscotch draw you in from the first pour.
  • Palate: Rich and layered, with cooked agave, dark chocolate, orange zest, pecan pie, and toffee unfolding beautifully across the palate.
  • Finish: A captivating finish that balances dryness with lingering sweetness, leaving you reaching for the next sip.

This anejo shines when sipped neat or on a single large ice cube, but it also elevates a classic Old Fashioned or a Tequila Manhattan with remarkable depth and sophistication.

Best enjoyed neat to honor its complexity; made from 100% blue agave grown in the highlands of Jalisco, Mexico.
